When I made my 30 by 30 list, I could not run a half mile. However, surprisingly, one of the first items on my list I knocked of was to run a 10k. I completed the Cooper River Bridge Run in just over 1:07:00. Through out the last year and half I have run a few 5Ks and even ran the Cooper River Bridge run a second time. I found myself getting faster and faster and thus getting more competitive.
With my fastest 5K time coming last March, I posted a 27:57 time and was sure that doubling the distance would still give me a good enough pace to complete the Cooper River Bridge run in under an hour. But when I entered the race I was back in Corral H and had to get through too many crowds of people before I could get my pace. Then on the bridge itself, people started walking in front of my and I lost my pace again. As a result, I finished in 1:01:17.
I don’t know if I will do the Cooper River Bridge Run again but I do know I want to do more 10Ks and I want to finish one of them in under and hour.
