A few years ago I went to New York with my parents. During the road trip we stopped in Philadelphia and Washington D.C. because we were all pretty big admirers of American history. One of the places we checked out was the Smithsonian Museum of American History so my mother could fulfill a promise she made to me as a young lad: to see Mr. Roger’s sweater.
While that was pretty cool I did have a bigger take away. The Smithsonian is HUGE!!! And there are multiple museums! We started on the top floor and by the time we made it down to the second floor, we were exhausted. Granted we had been traveling all day and had already done a Congressional tour but still, we could not finish one museum.
This goal is more of an excuse to get back to Washington and explore. I am sure it is not that hard to actually make it through all the exhibits in one museum. However, I loved my experience and since Megabus runs directly to D.C. from Charlotte, there is less excuses for not getting this done at some point.
